The murder in South Africa has actually fallen to half the level it was at back in the 80s/early 90s, and as ever, black people are far more likely to be the victims of crime than white people. You can walk round the Golden Mile in Durban, or around Umhlanga after midnight and not have any worries for yours safety.

So say what you want about South Africa, but the crime there isn't getting worse.

Also, people saying Labour party - you are aware that the original incarnation were avowedly white supremacist?

At the same time, the 1984 version were a tricameral era party that you could only vote for if you were coloured. SO while it might be technically possible for a coloured person to have voted Labour pre-apartheid, and in the 1980s, it is highly unlikely any would have.

Anyway, I would have boycotted everything up until the 1992 referendum; would have voted ANC in 1994, 1999, 2014; COPE in 2009 and abstained in 2004.

It was a different Labour Party I think that won a landslide in the 1984 election.

Yes, coloureds only, in elections under the joke "tricameral" system that most coloureds and indians boycotted
