Apparently he's the first incumbent Republican congressman to jump ship.
Worth noting that he's retiring, though.

Good morning. Rep. Hanna is lucky that he's retiring. If he had announced this before the June primaries he would have lost to a more conservative New Yorker.

I see the letters "NY" by his name. That explains everything.

Plus, the article says:

He has frequently split with his GOP colleagues on social issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage, and is among only 13 Republican House members to acknowledge that humans have contributed to climate change.

Thus, he's more of a moderate or RINO than a straight Republican.

This man has backbone. Hope more Republican follow. The Trumpster is an unacceptable candidate.

Ok, I guess, but not impressive when he's retiring and leaving politics anyway... no real cost.

It is Trump's home state!

The guy is from the upstate: his district covers Utica, etc., including a chunk of the Appalachians. The district voted both McCain and Romney. Exactly the sort of place Trump has to be competitive in to take Pennsylvania.

I will be very interested seeing the November results from the precinct that includes the Trump Tower. Will he manage to double his own family vote?

What do you call a sane Republican?

Former.

(Or in this case, "retiring")

We should take what we can get. At least we can put to rest the idea that there won't be any Republicans for Hillary.
