That must be one large 'group quarters'
These are row houses. Now, they might all be looking the same, and all in one row. I don't know that. But I don't think they're interconnected, they wouldn't qualify as individual units otherwise.

Units in structure - 1, detached - 20% (Juab: 80%. Utah, 68%)
1, attached - 54% (Juab: 3%, Utah 5%)
1, mobile home - 26% (Juab 10%, Utah 5%)
more than 1 - 0% (Juab 7% Utah 22%, these figures by unit, not by structure)

Well, if I'm reading the stats right, it looks like there are 3 structures...?

Huh? What? Where's it say that?

Oh, you got me wrong. These are types. "1, detached - 20%" means that 20% of units are in detached single-unit structures.
"1, attached - 54%" means that 54% of units are row houses. (I think what the Brits call semi-detached would also qualify.)
"1, mobile home - 26%" means that 26% of units are mobile homes (who are technically detached as well, but not counted as detached houses since that would be mighty misleading...)

If I lived in the area, I would actually drive out to check out these places. I like to check out weird little towns. There's plenty on I-94 in North Dakota, some of which are almost creepy.

Oh, I misunderstood. It's still odd. Smiley

Good luck topping this place!

I remember on of my teachers in High Shcool telling me that it is common for them to leave there houses unfinished so as to save for tax purposes. I dont remember the details about it but it probably has something to do with the $0 house value.

What's weird about any little North Dakota towns?  I've been to North Dakota a few times and haven't seen anything creepy.

I got some of this information from Alcon a few days ago, and I thought some of you may find it interesting.

Colorado City, AZ: Bush 606, Badnarik 11, Kerry 1
This is one of two cities that was the subject of a disastrous 'polygamy raid' in the 1950s, and since then the government has turned a blind eye.

1996 ( http://www.azsos.gov/results/1996general/counties/Mohave/Mohave1996GE.txt ):

Dole- 212
Perot- 25
Browne- 19
Clinton- 1

1992 ( http://www.azsos.gov/results/1992general/counties/Mohave/Mohave1992GE.txt ):

Gritz- 165
Bush- 77
Perot- 60
Clinton- 6
Marrou- 2

I wanna see how Colorado City voted on the Marriage Amendment.

The results from Colorado City

Senate: Kyl 159, Libertarian 33, Pederson 12
House: Franks 176, Libertarian 14, Pederson 13
Governor: Munsil 130, Napolitano 36, Libertarian 35

Marriage Amendment
Yes - 23 (11%)
No - 182 (89%)

Now that's ticket splitting.

I wonder how many "Don't blame me and my multiple wives, we voted for Gritz" bumper stickers are in Colorado City.

That is so weird that the marriage amendment would fail.  I mean, I understand the view that polygamy is more likely to be legalized if gay marriage is legal, but I'd still expect these fundamentalists to vote against gay marriage.

"Marriage is between a man and a woman."

Different part being objected to.

Ok.  I didn't realize exactly how the law was being written.

I thought the houses were all owned by a trust that belonged to the church.

The Colorado City/Hildale area controlled by the FLDS is utterly frightening. Jon Krakauer's Under the Banner of Heaven is a pretty good look into the FLDS and other polygamous Mormon spinoff groups. There's a person in the book, who if he stayed in town, is probably the lone Kerry voter. I'm proud to have voted for the opposite candidate from the FLDS. I'm glad to see Warren Jeffs in police custody and hope some kind of future for the people of the area can be developed.

More proof that we need to ban mormonism and Islam.

I wouldn't do that BRTD, These vertain religious fundes seem pretty insane and could shoot you if you went near their town.
