This divide is so idiotic.  I'm with the Dems here; just make all restrooms unisex.  It has so many benefits outside the transgender community:

No long lines for 50% of restrooms at sporting events/concerts where it's overwhelmingly male or female audiences.

Families can all use the restroom together without dad worrying what's happening to his daughter for example.

Janitorial duties easier because there's no awkward opposite-sex-cleaning-the-restroom.

etc

I think it's really strange that you think this guy should be using women's restrooms

Is that part of some weird fetish of yours?

As I've said before, this would be a wonderful 'issue' for the American people to rediscover the value of the honor system, common sense, and civil society on.

Good. This isn't like other social issues since it impacts more than the individual, especially in the case of locker/changing rooms.

I'd say that this is a good thing only in that it means the court will take up the issue. It's one that needs to be uniform across the country, yea or nay, instead of a cross-state-lines-and-you're-a-criminal scenario.

No, it would still be awkward, it would just be awkward a lot more often.

Can't we have 3 bathrooms, male, female and gender-neutral restrooms, or have unisex toilets, if only one person can go in at a time.

A number of new restaurants I've been to just have 2 or more unisex, single stall restrooms. Of course airplanes have this way all along. I suspect this will be the trend for business as it resolves the issue in the least threatening way. When remodeling happens, businesses will just refit their restrooms.

The pushback is going to be in public buildings (schools, parks, pools) where the costs to refit are hard to sell to a public that sees this as an issue affecting such a small part of the population and requires the diversion of tax dollars. The added issue of sex and gender just complicates it for many born and raised when sex and gender were synonymous. The Americans with Disabilities Act was a hard sell in its day (1991), too, for some of the same underlying reasons. It was expensive to make changes for a group that was a small minority. Eventually it has worked out and most buildings and bathrooms are accessible, but it was not without significant implementation issues during the early years of the act.

You're the one searching up pictures of semi naked trans men and posting them on the forum.

Trans women are people who are transitioning/have transitioned from male to female (like me).
Trans men are people who are transitioning/have transitioned from female to male.

I like this. Anyone can use the unisex bathrooms. If you are uncomfortable with sharing a bathroom with the opposite sex then you can go to the appropriate gendered bathroom.

Really?  Because he maintained the status quo while the court is in recess?!  Wow.  Not unhinged at all.

I think it's really strange that you think this guy should be using women's restrooms

Is that part of some weird fetish of yours?

Kind of a weird fetish that you would want that person lurking around a student's restroom in a high school regardless of gender.

Okay everybody, it's just a stay. This is in no way indicative of how Breyer (or other justices) will vote when the Court actually takes up the issue.
