Marist: Trump favorable opinion among conservatives: 62/33 a month ago, now 46/47.

Rasmussen: Trump support among Republicans drops from 86 to 72.

The largest driver behind Trump's recent doldrums seems to be declining support among the base. Interesting, given that we've followed the missing white voters strategy that so many critics of Rommey and McCain recommended.

It turns out a lunatic who slanders veterans and their families isn't appealing to many conservatives.  Who would have thought?

It's three months to election day, and the Republican party candidate has a plurality negative favorability rating with conservatives. Wow.

Over a quarter of the party isn't voting for him.

I think it could get worse, if Trump is polling like he is now after Labor day, he is going to look like a total loser. The conservatives that hate Trump aren't going to vote for him if he can't beat the one person they hate more. If they just decide to stay home the GOP is in real trouble down ballot.

That is huge.
Ljube will go nuts.
If that number sticks through November, trump is doomed. No if, and, or buts about it.

The party needs to get in line. The sold their souls to partisan politics. Fox News probably wants a win too for once so they don't have to deal with competition.

Romney in Utah is the only chance to deadlock the electoral college.

Hillary is actively poaching Republican voters now....she's releasing ads specifically targeting them to turn against Trump with national security issues in them.

Just FYI - This is similar to Nixon's strategy against McGovern in 72.

That's what the party gets for not giving Cruz (or one of the conservatives) the top spot. You picked Trump establishment GOP. YoU have to pay for it.

Hillary would've easily beaten Cruz, although not this easily.

If the conservatives are making noise about staying home, then who is holding up Johnson's freakishly high numbers? Doesn't make sense unless you believe he's peeling support from Hillary as well.

Johnson is peeling away support from Clinton. Her leads usually shrink when Johnson is included.
