I really don't get why conservative politicians (the base obviously is) aren't more frightened of the implications of these agreements for US Sovereignty.

I mean it was obvious to everyone that he was going to reject the pipeline sooner or later. They should have hired better lobbyists if they were lead to believe it was going to get approved.

I'm neither a supporter or opponent of NAFTA (although I do support full free trade between the US and Canada), but if this kind of claim succeeds, I think the US should unilaterally withdraw. I don't think withdrawing from NAFTA would be a wise decision for the US economy, but if the Canadian government wants to prop up TransCanada, the damage to the Canadian economy would be far worse than anything here in the States.

Stopping selling out our nation, or any nation to global corporations needs to stop, as it is an affront to national sovereignty, as the article says, national interest.
