There are fewer Republican women in Congress now than in 2006. The trend repeats at every level of government.

Clinton's nomination has really put the scarcity of Republican women officials in stark relief.  
And Trump's nomination has too, given his long history of misogyny.  Yet women voted overwhelmingly for Hillary's husband twice despite his own misogyny and womanizing.  The double standard voters have when it comes to Democrats and Republicans is quite glaring.
