The Better for America Party has given him its Arkansas ballot spot. One state down!

If he makes it on the ballot and constantly campaigns there, this Mormon can win his home state of Utah.

This kind of reminds me of the candidate who ran against Gorbachev in 1988 when the newly elected Supreme Soviet elected the new Soviet President.  He ran just so Gorbachev wouldn't be the only choice.  I wonder if McMullin even has a clue that so many ballot deadlines have passed, and how difficult it will be to get signatures for those looming soon.

Theoretically he could get up to 256 electoral votes with all the aforementioned states, assuming no little-known third party gives him their nominations in the other states. I was sure hoping he'd make the ballot in all 50 states, because then Clinton would win with at least 400 electoral votes.

Yeah.  I thought David French was at the bottom of the barrel, but they managed to find someone even more unknown.

Honestly I think the whole point of this is to try and get this to a no-majority situation so the House can elect Paul Ryan an establishment Republican to the Presidency.

Wow! He must really want to be the next Republican President's CIA Director.

I agree this might have been a credible longshot strategy back in, like, May, if they'd put forward a candidate with more than zero name recognition. I don't see how the Kristol/neocon faction could be so deluded to still believe they have any chance of doing that this late in the game. It's impossible to do anything except further torpedo Trump in dark red states. There's no scenario where this CIA guy would ever have a chance at flipping any blue state unless Hillary and Trump spend the first debate sharing a dead baby for a snack.

Will any major pollsters include McMullin's name in a poll?

PPP seems like the type that might include him in their TX poll this weekend.

I saw him interviewed on CNN and he seems very focused on Utah and the Mormon vote. Maybe he will focus almost exclusively on Utah to just deny that state to Trump.

McMullin, a former Goldman Sachs executive and CIA guy, is the literal stereotype of the so called "cuckservative" (I hate that term, but I use it this once for the sake of argument) that the party is in revolt about.

He's another Reagan zombie who talks of principles that he doesn't hold. Awful. If the #NeverTrump Republicans wanted an honest candidate who is a man of principle, they'd back Gary Johnson....but Johnson doesn't hate gays and is rational about drug legalization, so that rules out any support from the Susan Collins crowd.

Wasn't Collins one of the only Republican Senators to vote for repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell?

Probably, I'm just using her as a whipping post and an indictment of the average Republican Congressional backbencher.

PPP is full of trolls. Either that or they have a troll in charge. I expect that he'll be included in at least one of their polls. Harambe will probably beat him though.

Uh, the guy has zero chance of winning any states, and a near zero chance of breaking 1% in any state except Utah.

He's toast. He might get on 10 ballots tops.
