Do what exactly? The answer is no. He's the nominee. Like him or hate him.

This.

And make sure it is a blowout, so this kind of stupidity and irresponsibility can never rise again.

I worry more about Hillary.  As Captain Picard once said: "Villains who twirls their mustache is easy to spot. The ones who clothes their selves in good deeds are well camouflaged."

Except that she has good deeds. Someone who does good things is by definition not a villain, no?

Doing a few "good things" doesn't make you good.

Any candidate who encourages his supporters to assassinate his political rival should be disqualified from the office they're seeking.

This isn't a Republican vs Democrat thing; it's an American thing.

If you still think Trump should be allowed to run, after he made what is essentially a chargeable death threat, then I don't consider you an American.

Yeah the sane ones can vote in Hillary and Trump out, but those who put Trump in the running in the first place will still be out there. What will they come up with next to get attention?

Yet he is running, so what do you suggest be done about it?  Have the Supreme Court disqualify him?

I really, really hope that's the case.  But I'm not sure we can expect such a thing when we're dealing with a group as irrational as the Republican base.

I really, really hope that's the case.  But I'm not sure we can expect such a thing when we're dealing with a group as irrational as the Republican base.

Assuming Trump loses in a landslide, the party will likely be discredited in the minds of many educated, minority, and millennial voters, the results of which will only be a further increase in the share of the party's voter base that is aligned with Trump's positions and values. The fact that Ryan & Co. aren't disavowing Trump, thereby rescuing their brand from association with this demagogue will only further ensure the solidification of the Republican Party as the party of white, male grievance. For the next 20 or so years, the Republican Party will likely be in the political wilderness, at least for the Presidency, since they will lose the growing demographic groups in this country, yet their angry base won't shrink fast enough for them to reasonably compete without drawing them to the polls. So, good luck, Republicans! Your pandering to Dixiecrats was a winning political strategy for your party during the past 40 years, but that has come to an end. The most reviled segment of the population is now your base of support.

Yes. Vote for his opponent and destroy the party that's forced him on us and continues to defend him.

Yep. Make him wish he could do as well as Mondale.
