I used to play electric bass but gave up to start screaming. My favorite bassist of all time will always be Les Claypool, hands down.

I've been trying to get another band going for so long and it's been mostly fruitless. I do have a kind of "project" that I've worked on that's my vocals on top of some instrumentals I found on YouTube/Soundcloud but it's gotten increasingly difficult to continue that project because I haven't found too many quality instrumentals lately.

Why screaming, by the way?  I've considered adding some screamo tracks to my own music, mostly because I can't sing and I'm not interested in learning how, honestly.  Though screaming obviously has its negatives.  For one thing I'd like to try not damaging my vocal cords too much and I don't have any place to go where I could record without disturbing people or being disturbed by others.

Screaming is very cathartic for me. When done correctly, it does little damage to the voice. Although I understand the part about having nowhere to record, it was tough for me to do the album that I did because I basically had a four hour window each day for about 3 weeks where no one was home, and there would be days where my voice wasn't at peak ability, or I would take vocal rest. It's certainly a challenge, albeit a rewarding one.
