Hillary has thanked Republicans for Clinton for their support.

If elected, I believe she will appoint a Republican to cabinet.

Who will that be, and to which post?

Please discuss.

Does anyone think there's a chance for McCain and something like the Dept of Veteran Affairs?

I think this really depends on how McCain moves in the coming months.

I could definitely see an entirely reasonable quid pro quo there.
Hilary and McCain get along really well, they used to get drinks in secret during the 2008 campaign to make fun of Obama.  True story.
I'm sure he'd be a good veterans affairs secretary, the question is if he'd stay in his lane or start taking up during cabinet meetings that are 50% foreign policy.  I don't think she wants to have to be constantly battling him over commander in chief policy.

She could go full 90s and tap Colin Powell for National Security Advisor.

I know, I can dream.

YES, I like this idea. Especially if he were to lose his seat, then I would ask him to run the VA.
He would be great in this position.

Colin Powell would be good in almost any position. Even as Sec of Defense.

None, because Republicans for Hillary are ultimately useful idiots who will be promptly thrown overboard once they've served their purpose of elevating Hillary to the Presidency.

Plus it reeks of technocracy.

It's typically an American tradition for a President to appoint someone in their cabinet or other high level position from the other party.

I don't think it would be responsible to put any registered Republican in a position of power at this point.

Very few. Likely a Huntsman or Collins somewhere.
I'm more worried about her supporting proto-Repubs like Garland.
