yes, mostly from Culvers.  Freaking delicious....but they have to be horrible for you, right?  We dip them in Hidden Valley ranch, but they are awesome straight too.  The wife loves them a lot more than I do.

I don't know if I'm an upper-Midwesterner or not.  I went with not.

Fried cheese curds, right?  We have those at festivals around here.  They could also be fried bananas though.

I love how state fairs have basically turned into a giant contest to see what can be deep fried.  Probably keeping Social Security solvent.

Yes, I would eat that.

Deep fried cheese curds. They're mostly associated with fairs and outdoor places like amusement parks in the Upper Midwest, but you can find them at all sorts of bars and restaurants too. But hard to find outside the Upper Midwest from what I've been told.

While we're at it, anyone ever had a cheeseburger like this? Supposedly even more localized, Minnesota, the bordering areas in Wisconsin, Sioux Falls and Fargo are the ONLY places I've ever heard of serving this:

That's interesting. There is this one bar/grill near my work and they do cheeseburgers like that. Maybe the owners are from those areas, I'll have to ask.

Cheese curds are great. You can find them here in Indiana but they aren't as common as farther north.

I have indeed eaten both cheese stuffed burgers and cheese curds. However, I have never had deep fried cheese curds.

No, but I'd like to remedy that as soon as I can. They look delicious and I love almost every kind of food mainly based on cheese.

They are very good when dipped in a spicy creamy ketchup dip.

Cheese curds are most popular in Wisconsin and they go really well with beer, which is also extremely popular in Wisconsin (go home Wisconsin, you're drunk)

Minnesota is better known for the Jucy Lucy, walleye dinners, wild rice soup, dessert bars, or Scandinavian specialties like lefse, pickled herring, or krumkake.  And famous candies like Pearson's Nut Goodie! (Peanuts and chocolate covering a maple flavored nougat)

And if you're at the bar participating in a meat raffle, you can also play pulltabs!
