NBC News: Clinton 288, Trump 174, Tossups 76

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/first-read/clinton-surges-past-270-electoral-votes-nbc-news-battleground-map-n630851

NC and NE-2 are Lean D
NV is still a tossup
GA is a tossup, AZ is Lean R
SC and KS were moved to Lean R
ME-2 is surprisingly still a tossup

Freedom map, but I disagree with it. Make NC a toss-up and then it is pretty good!

I would've agreed with you before Marist came out with that yuge poll showing Clinton +9 there. Lean Dem sounds about right at this point.

Agreed. NC is still a toss-up at this point. Just one poll that showed Hillary leading that much.

Based on polling alone, not intuition or gut feelings, if NC is a toss-up, then Missouri and Arizona need to be toss ups as well.

Naturally, they're basing these maps off of polls only, but lol at NV being a toss-up.

Can we please have a good pollster poll Maine again so that we can stop pretending that ME-02 is anything less than likely D?

Media rating maps are always too cautious, and also overreact to surprising polls. Utah and Georgia are examples of this.

Question: Did you consider WI a tossup last time around even though Obama consistently had a lead? How about NC?

I wasn't really around back in 2012 with all that stuff, but in hindsight I probably would've put Wisconsin at Lean D.

Even Republican Clear Politics now gives Clinton 272:

Clinton's defense:

Colorado (RCP: Clinton +10)
Virginia (Clinton +11.2)
Pennsylvania (Clinton +9.2)
New Hampshire (Clinton +8.2)

Clinton's offense:

Nevada (Clinton +2.3)
Florida (Clinton +4.5)
Ohio (Clinton +2.6)
Iowa (Clinton +0.8 )
North Carolina (Clinton +2.0)

If Clinton holds her "line of defense," and sweeps CO, VA, PA, and NH, she will win.  Period.  If there's any weakness in these, Trump has an opportunity, but Clinton can still make up for them by picking up one or more of her "offensive" states.  There are other states she could pick up (GA, AZ) but these would be gravy.  And there are other states she could lose (MI) but the race would already be lost if she did.

That's how I see the race shaping up.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/08/19/politics/road-to-270-electoral-college-map-3-august/index.html?adkey=bn
- New Hampshire (4 electoral votes) moves from "battleground" to "lean Democrat"
- Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes) moves from "battleground" to "lean Democrat"
- Virginia (13 electoral votes) moves from "battleground" to "lean Democrat"
That adds 37 more electoral votes to Clinton's total and puts her at 273 electoral votes -- just ahead of the needed 270 electoral votes to win the White House.

Long overdue. I bet CNN will move PA back at some point to keep its horserace narrative alive.

New CBS Battleground Map:

Odd that they have Colorado in the same category as North Carolina.

Doesn't technically fall into "Media", but PredictIt tweets out battleground maps using the prices from its Electoral College markets. This is today's map:

CBS Update:

I think the only changes are:

FL: Edge Clinton ---> Toss Up
AZ: Leaning Trump ---> Edge Trump
