While I understand the appeal of the Keystone XL pipeline, on principle I am opposed to the use of eminent domain for any reason.

The concerning thing is the Federal Government overturning local moratoriums- which are often issued when you're trying to actively review an environmental problem

I am in complete support of Energy Independence, so let's focus on the actual ways we the people can be independent, not attempting to be reliant on another nation's corporation. Through solar, hydroelectric, wind, and even nuclear power, we can start building an energy system that works for all of us and is renewable.

Both oil and coal are not only non-renewable, but time after time are shown to destroy this world's beautiful environment.

I also worry about the impact of eminent domain. I am against most eminent domain cases, except for those public work programs that are to benefit the community. This would be damaging to our environment, creating only temporary jobs to benefit a multinational corporation.

I am against this bill.

3. and 4. violate the rules of federalism, under which our country is governed.

I agree with diversifying our energy resources by providing large incentives for renewable energy along with temporary lesser incentives for oil and gas supplies drilled that is not exported to other countries.

Clause 3 involved federal waters. No violation of federalism I can discern. Clause 4 should be up to the regions. Clauses 1 and 2 do pass constitutional muster.

I'm not a fan of eminent domain but the requirement for compensation is a fair one. 120% of property value is not something to pass up

Abolishing federal bans on fracking would unleash more oil and gas into the economy lowering prices but profits can be boosted by more driving.

Clause 4 needs tweaked and I'll have an amendment to do just that in a couple hours.

As there have been no objections, Rep. JCL's amendment has been adopted.

Since there has been no debate in nearly two days, we will now move to a final vote. Representatives may vote AYE, NAY, or ABSTAIN.

Aye. Though if passed we need to discuss the eminent domain issue.

This bill has enough votes to fail. Representatives have 24 hours to add, remove, or change their votes.
