You're not allowed to watch any news or returns or use the internet. you want to know who won the election. You can find out one state and one state only (all you'll know is who won the state). Which state do you want to know?

Yep, I think that's the one. If Clinton won PA, she won VA, CO, NH. She lost PA, she lost OH and doesn't have the landslide to make up for it.

FiveThirtyEight gives Florida a higher "tipping-point chance" than Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania

Trump's success in that state will be an omen for me on whether he is doing good or not on election night.

I'm surprised. I think there are scenarios where Hillary can win PA, but lose OH, FL, IA, NV, NH & NC and fall just short (especially if she loses ME-2).
I'll go with Nevada. She wins Nevada, she wins the election. If my hypothetical involved real time on election night, I might even pick NH since I'll get those results earlier... Florida might be the choice too, since it probably eliminates some oddball scenarios. PA is probably not higher on my list that 5th or 6th.

shouldabeen a poll.

Trump doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell in New Hampshire, even if he wins in a landslide.
then Clinton is President

Yeah, Pennsylvania, since it's unlikely Trump can win without it, whereas I could see states like Colorado and Virginia ending up quite a bit more Democratic than the nation as a whole. Also, if Trump won Ohio or Florida, that wouldn't necessarily mean he won the election.

She can lose despite winning PA on occasion, but she can often win despite losing NV.

Election results for the end, or at the start of the night? I'd go with Pennsylvania.

Ohio--if Clinton won it, she likely won the other swing states.

It feels weird, but I guess the answer really is Pennsylvania.

To be fair, the recent polls point towards New Hampshire being the pivotal state but Pennsylvania is so much bigger.

North Carolina with the way things are going now.

In a tighter 2012 type race, Ohio.

Sorry folks, trump nor any republican had a chance in PA.
