Since there can be a protest vote and if enough voters stay home. There was a poll showing Clinton leading Trump 45% to 18%, with 37% going to Other. Is this enough to give the state to Sanders?

37% is less than 45%.

I know, but there is still a legitimate chance.

No.
But if Hillary wins big, I can see the possibility of a Vermont elector giving his vote to Sanders.
That would be kool.

I thought this thread was something that got bumped from April or something, only to facepalm hard when I saw it was today.

Supposedly 14% of Utahans volunteered unprompted that they would write-in Mitt Romney in the latest Dan Jones poll.  It would be cool if we had mass, unsolicited write-in campaigns in both States.

I don't think Bernie Sanders can win Vermont, but he could beat Trump.

Although I voted "He won't be on the ballot", if you write him in, it's a valid vote. Apparently, Vermont is a state where any write-in vote is valid. No paperwork, no filing fee, no signature required.

I can't imagine all 37% of the people who said "other" are planning to write in Bernie Sanders.

In Vermont it's probably like 25-30 in that slice, the rest being Johnson/Stein and a few Mickey Mouses.

86-14 but who's counting...

Anyway, I am interested to see how the third party candidates end up performing here...
