The Chicago Cubs won the NL Central championship last night, the first time since 2008. The question remains whether
they can get to the World Series. They're on track of winning 100+ games. Can manager Joe Maddon do what Dusty Baker and Lou Piniella couldn't do?
It would be nice to see the Cubs win a championship for the first time since
1908, but I don't know if they are playing under pressure, like the 2007 and 2008 Cubs did.
Cubs team president Theo Epstein, who helped the Boston Red Sox win the 2004 and 2007 World Series championships, should be commended. He knows how to turn "cursed" franchises around.
