If opebo was still around, I'm sure there'd be some nuggets there.

Opebo and Tweed are the two most likely to have committed actual crimes, so them.

The general left believes in imprisoning the privileged as vengeance. I'm the only one on the left brigade that is a consistent egalitarian rather than seeker of revenge on the matter Smiley

(Nah, I'm p sure Tony might be relatively egalitarian too!)

Uh, no? Huh I never said that.

In an ideal world, no, prisons shouldn't exist because we'd found less morally questionable ways to rehabilitate criminals, but until then they're a necessary evil.

LOL, you ARE the left.  Style is less important than motive, IMO. Smiley

Ah. Forgive me. I'd mistaken you as a member of the brigade of posters opposed to incarceration for anyone anywhere. I haven't had the inclination to comb that entire awful thread yet.

In an ideal world shouldn't prisons not exist because, oh I don't know, we wouldn't have criminals?(controversial)

Apparently Centrist ideal worlds>Leftist ideal worlds

Well yeah. I meant a world where humans would still be morally fallible but social organization would be optimal (which, to me, is not quite as utopian as overcoming moral fallibility).
