Nixon: All in all, mild FF. Had fair accomplishments both in foreign and domestic policy, but Watergate sinks him (sad!). He was a very intelligent man with a good political mind, but his biggest problem was his paranoia.

Ford: Massive FF. Good president and a man with a great character. One of my favorites. Should have been reelected.

Carter: FF. Average president, great man of honor and decency.

Reagan: HP. Made the rich richer and the poor poorer while he blew the deficit. Probably the most overrated president in history. He was good in telling jokes, but that's it.

Poppy Bush: Mild FF. Average president, nice and intelligent man. Certainly better than his son.

The further history got from people whose parents or grandparents were alive to hear about his Presidency from people who were alive during it, and the more important a POTUS' civil rights views became in his valuation, the better Grant came to be viewed.
It's more like the opposite, actually. In the late 19th century, when the memory of his administration was still fresh in people's minds, he was incredibly well liked, with a stature in the public eye that was probably only exceeded by Lincoln. It wasn't until the generation of war veterans began dying off and the "Lost Cause" revisionist interpretation of the Civil War grew popular in the early 20th century that his reputation began to really take a hit.

Fair, but I was thinking from Lost Cause Generation onward, starting with a negative view (most old school history books aren't kind to him).

Are you going to include both Trump and Hilary in the next one, or are you just doing Clinton Bush and Obama?

Only Carter deserves, FF, a truly great man the rest are horrible, though Nixon did was alright, and a hugely fascinating character with intrigue, the 1st Bush wasn't the worst, but I don't think he's worthy of a FF, due to his lack of doing sh*t.
