Its absolutely ridiculous that there are 101 Swimming medals where athletes can compete in multi-discipline events.

Take the Olympic medal missus Swimming

1. China 14 golds, 11 silver, 14 bronze - 39 medals.
2. Great Britain 14 golds, 11 silver, 7 Bronze - 32 Medals.
3. USA 10 Golds, 13 Silver, 13 bronze - 36 medals.

In Golf there is only one gold medal.
In Tennis you can win three, Rafael Nadal won the doubles, withdrew from the mixed because of fatigue and came 4th in the singles.

Swimming has to many medals. You can't have events where there is no real disparity. The IOC needs to drop the number of medals. 100m and 200m there is no real difference in the results.

Another issue is the relays. Each country should pick 4 swimmers and 4 swimmers only not bring a bench of 8 and keep another 4 fresh. It gives a massive advantage to the USA because smaller nations that could compete with their best 4 can't compete because they are forced to swim twice in one day - afternoon and evening session plus the races they have to race.

Another issue with swimming is in between the 4 years the number of athletes that go totally untested with doping. 13 gold medals won by Team USA had athletes that were untested from 2013-2015.

Clearly meant "minus", and I am in agreement that it is ridiculous to have so any swimming disciplines for medals.

Yeah, there are far too many medals in things like boxing, wrestling, taekwondo, judo, with way too many weight classes.  Just throw them all in a cage and the last one out wins.
