Hillary is airing 15 Million dollars of commercials during the olympics. Airing commercials non-stop in Florida, Ohio ect.

Trump over the last two months has raised approximately $160 Million dollars yet hasn't aired one singe commercial for the general election. Its almost September and most polls show him down BIG.

What is he waiting for at this point?!

He won the primaries without spending much money, so he is merely continuing that strategy.

It is an act of defiance. He does the opposite of what the media and political experts say he should so he can thumb his nose at them when he wins like he did during the primaries. That or he actually wants to lose and destroy the GOP as we know it.

I believe he only has 80 million, it was always going to be a budget campaign.

He unfortunately doesn't have any stake in media, so there is no real way to funnel it to himself like there is when he charges expenses to marketing/strategy companies, his hotels and planes.

How much has he loaned his campaign so far?  Pretty sure his top priority is paying himself back.

He really did forgive that loan. Might be the one time he's told the truth so far.

He still has a lot of work to do in the field that Clinton already finished up, so that's a more important expenditure than commercials.

He may also be waiting for expectations and standards for him to hit rock bottom before releasing surprisingly decent ads.

I received an email from the Clinton campaign stating they believe he's holding onto the money for a huge, desperation ad buy come the fall.

Probably just a fundraising ploy but their guess is as good as mine.

I am not up to speed on the intricacies of campaign finance law, but under what circumstances would Trump be able to keep his war chest? (Either to flat out pocket it, or fold it into other scams, schemes, or strategies?)

Protip: his campaign is a marketing scam.

I don't think he and his campaign have any idea what there doing, or what to do.
They are a bunch of stray dogs, let loose on the streets.

It appears Trump spent all of his incredible luck during the primaries.

I recall a story 4 months back or so, that the Clinton campaign and SuperPAC had "blocked out" huge chunks of cheaper ad slots early in the campaign in swing states to force the cost up for the Republicans.

Is that factually correct and if so, is that having an impact on potential Trump campaign ad buy decisions?

Trump is just doing what he has done in the primaries - waiting until the last minute to advertise on TV.  Trump let the other candidates, especially Rubio, outspend him on early TV spots, and only came on TV a week or two before the primaries.  But when Trump went in, he usually advertised big in the last two weeks.

I expect the Trump campaign to go on-air after Labor Day.

It has some but they aren't cut out, but it probably hurts outside groups more than the Trump campaign. Actual campaigns are entitled to the discount rate. And there are a lot of advertising slots available in general for most big media markets it is hard to box someone out.  Remember back last year, just two fantasy football websites spent over $200M in advertising in the fall.
