Clinton - 41%
Trump - 37%
Johnson - 10%
Stein - 4%

Conducted August 9-16.

Probably the best poll for Trump in a while.

Trump only up by 12 points among whites. Yeah, I'll take it. Something tells me Latinos won't vote for their own deportation.

Amazing that I agree with this in a poll where Trump is at 37%

That's not how Latinos are looking at this race. They are scared of Trump and his rhetoric. Where is the line for him? Why shouldn't all minorities be scared of what Trump might do?

Man that white college-education split is insane.  And again, it suggests that Clinton would actually benefit here if it was an LV poll.

Best news for Clinton in this poll is 53% approval for Obama.  If that holds, I can't really see her losing barring some huge new scandal for her.

This is the best news for Trump in a long time. No one can reasonably discredit Pew Research Center because they are the one of the most thorough groups out there.

Trump's Hispanic support at 26% is good for him at this early stage (1% less than Romney's total). If he can gain 5-6% by Election Day, then he is in decent shape to pull of the Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania victory.

Exactly. I don't trust the levels of ignorance in this country (depending on where you are). I wonder how many Puerto Ricans would be called into his so-called deportation force's eyesights due to a good number of Americans not knowing that Puerto Ricans have been American citizens for almost 100 years.

And, of course, this would only happen to Puerto Ricans who aren't white because white Puerto Ricans are perceived as American/European based on their foreign-sounding accent or lack thereof. Why so? Because of the encouragement for racial profiling from this disastrous hypothetical president. Just one little example of how things could/likely would go horribly wrong in an ignorant-fueled, racial profiling Trump America.

And this is with Americans of Hispanic heritage. I can't even imagine what would happen with legal immigrants who have permanent residence or have already been naturalized.

Johnson and Stein are not high profile enough to get 28% of 18-29 voters. I don't deny they could get 6/8% but Stein especially is not well known.

It terrifies me that despite leading Hillary in the low 40s. Looks like she won't get 50% in the GE.

Good thing for Hillary that this is only a registered voter screen, she's been doing better with likely voter polls.

A +4 really isn't an outlier for a +6 to +8 race, especially with such high third party numbers and just regular fluidity in the polls.  Just my two cents.

According to this poll, 16% of Trump supporters think increasing racial diversity is making America a worse place.

Looking back in 2012, a couple things about Pew surprised me.

They bounced around A LOT, going from between Obama +8 to Romney +4, but ended up being pretty close at Obama +3.

They polled at least once a month, even over the summer. This year, they're polling quite a bit less often.

Remember, 3rd parties always fade a bit into the fall, but yes it's highly unlikely anyone gets a majority this year.  However, I think Clinton will easily be over 45%.

Not 'always'. Perot rebounded in the weeks prior to the 1992 vote, though that was largely thanks to the debates.

Getting far too close for comfort. And this is not the only piece of evidence. Efforts to destroy the fiend should be redoubled.

72% of Clinton voters thinks it makes America a better place. Only 40% of Trumpeters do. So 60% think increasing diversity doesn't make America better.

I think a large part of it is that she needs to raise her own favorable ratings, trump is still at the same level of support he is in pretty much all polls at about 39%.
