Doesn't look likely that there is anything he can do. He'll still be Trump, no matter who his staffers are, so that angle isn't going to work.

He's still Trump, so a large majority of the things he says are turning off general election voters, so that angle isn't going to work since he says he is not going to change.

He's still Trump, so his campaign isn't not very well-oiled like Hillary's machine, so that angle isn't likely to work if he tries at this late date to get it lean and mean.

He's still Trump, and he doesn't know much about politics, so he's really not going to start sounding educated on the subject (unless someone else writes a teleprompter speech for him).
