I used to think that 8% was the republican floor this year, with a more likely outcome being the Bush 04 showing (11%), and an absolute ceiling of 15%. This was because I thought 1) no black voter who voted for Romney would ever vote for Hillary, 2) there would be a small natural bounce due to there being no black guy on the ballot this time, and 3) the nominee would make at least some attempt to appeal to swing blacks. I still think 1) is true (although a few could vote Johnson/Stein) but 3) isn't. Trump's attempts to reach out to Blacks are hilariously bad, plus he made the Judge Curiel comments and initially refused to disavow the endorsement of his candidacy by David Duke.  Hillary's strong support among black voters in the primaries was the entire reason she won the nomination - Sanders won among whites, and Latinos were all over the place depending on the state, so I'm not sure how true 2) is.

Pending further developments, I'll say 5-9%

4%, but I feel like that's being generous and there's a good chance he'll come in 3rd.

I think another factor is Johnson doing reasonably well. Polls indicate that Trump is extremely unpopular with black voters, even by Republican standards. So while I used to think he'd improve on Romney's numbers I now think he'll be mid single digits.

I think Clinton will get about 93 percent of black voters, Trump about 4 percent with the rest going to mostly Johnson and Stein.

But guys remember Trump is going to do actually quite relatively well amongst blacks because of some vague stuff about his trade policies and they're going to be so angry at Hillary for her 2008 campaign!

I would have said 5%, but after his weird speech in Michigan and his avoidance of black people in Louisiana, let's go with 3%
