Obviously I'm not a conservative, but LBJ's presidency is such a shame to me. He did a lot of great things, only to flush his legacy down the toilet by making a mess out of Vietnam. Not trying to downplay his involvement in Vietnam, it was awful, but he did have some important accomplishments before it.

Obama.  Johnson was a racist and a warmonger who got us into Vietnam, signed civil rights legislation merely for political expediency, and created generations of dependence on government through his failed (though well-intentioned) Great Society legislation.
