If Delmarva were given statehood (comprising Delaware, Maryland's Eastern Shore, and the Eastern Shore of Virginia) how would it vote in, for example, a presidential election?

The Maryland and Virginia parts of Delmarva are decently Republican, but are overwhelmed by Delaware.

2012 Election Results:

Obama 332,751 (53.9%)
Romney 284,242 (46.1%)

Minus Delaware (Marva?)

Obama 90,204 (43.2%)
Romney 118,766 (56.8%)

So that would put it in like, Michigan or Minnesota territory? How elastic is Delaware?

I could see Delmarva electing some Republicans in midterm years while in presidential years being likely D.

Well, combining the DE and VA senate races and the MD Governor's race in 2014,

Dem: 168,761 (47.4%)
GOP: 187,351 (52.6%)

Marva

Dem: 38,116 (30%)
GOP: 88,532 (70%)

Now, Hogan was really strong in Eastern Maryland, but this confirms your suspicion.

You don't even need to excise DE to make Delmarva Pub. Just take out Wilmington in New Castle county.

To be clear, the Virginia part narrowly voted for Obama in 2012.

It would be swingy if you counted New Castle county, DE as part of the composition of the hypothetical state. Without New Castle county, it would be solid Republican.
