Seems like an objective source completely free of wishful thinking. and glancing at a USSS website is some real hard-hitting reporting.

Probably that he's seeking (or has) the nomination of a party on sufficient ballots to win.

Have nothing against it. But I hope Hillary will win more the 50% of the vote. A strong third-party would prevent this from happening, even if Johnson does more harm to the Trumpster.

Totally random thought:  Isn't it a conflict of interest when the agency tasked with protecting candidates, thereby securing the integrity of the election, answers to the current administration and theoretically serves at the pleasure of the President?

I mean, it's not going to be a problem in today's democracy where we have respect for the process and for the peaceful transition of power, but say some power-hungry madman wants to ensure his re-election.  Being responsible for his opponent's safety strikes me as a problem.

Not that it would be logistically possible, but ideally this task should fall to an agency like the U.S. Marshals.
