That's kind of the idea. The backstory is about a guy who tries to create an objective utopia, but in the process becomes a power hungry totalitarian dictator.

I took great interest in her philosophy in college, and read Anthem, Atlas Shrugged, and the first 300 pages of The Fountainhead.

This 3-year-old Alternet article appeared today in my Facebook feed. After reading it (and with 30 years hindsight), I can't look at her the same way again.

She paid for Social Security through her taxes. She’s entitled to what she was (forced) to put in. This is the weakest of all the anti-Rand arguments, of which there are many. She was worth millions when she passed, and was nowhere close to starving. Go read a biography of her - even the critical ones clearly resolve this scurrilous rumor.

And I am hardly a Randist anymore, even though I still admire her for democracizing the novel.

Already have.....still, decent reads I guess. I think my objectivist phase is a sign that I was way ahead of the curb on the dying brand of Movement Conservatism at best, and annoying teen rebellion at worst.
