Those numbers are horrendous and before anyone says this doesn't matter, don't forget the RNC has total responsibility over Trump's GOTV operations. Those figures aren't going to cut it.

Yep...now we know why the RNC begged Sheldon Adelson for cash,  which he didn't give.

Anyone notice how the Trump campaign always tends to be the the last to report?

That really is a hideous number for Republicans. I suppose that's why the chair of the NRCC had to talk down the notion that their majority is in jeopardy yesterday. You can also see why Nancy Pelosi's grip on the leadership has been so strong. As strong a leader she is, her fundraising abilities are legendary.

Also, lol at the RNC having over $54 million COH less compared to four years ago. That doesn't bode well for their ground game.

Also, according to Politico, DNC fundraising is running far ahead of 2012 numbers:

He must still be counting money with his tiny hands.

Here's the big question I have about the Trump campaign - what exactly is he spending all of this money on? He's just barely getting on air now, and his organization on the ground still lags far behind that of Clinton's.

One positive for Trump on this though - he is narrowing the Cash on Hand gap (it went from $24 Million to only $20 Million). Beyond that, this is a pretty weak month for him.

Hillary has made progress improving her small donor numbers, with nearly 60% of her cash haul coming from donors (like yours truly) contributing $200 or less:

Most reporting is that the RNC is going to be almost 100% responsible for GOTV and turnout (and there fundraising looks soft compared to past years). So I wouldn't expect the Trump campaign to put that much money into ground organizations.

Well, I found out some of the juicy figures (shouts out to bedstuy from Nasty Atlas):

$420k on hats
$8.4 million on digital advertising/consulting to a tiny web firm that has never done a political campaign.
$1 million on renting venues
$3.2 million on travel

so yes, good use of money!

I believe only 35% of Trump's fundraising in July was from small donors

I've heard the same, but RNC fundraising isn't even close to what it was four years ago (and Trump's fundraising pales into comparison as to what Romney could do). At this rate, the Republican ground game is going to be a shell of its former self, while the Democratic ground game is likely to be an even more refined version of Obama's. The Super PACs only really fight on the airwaves. They cannot make up for a lack of a ground game. If Republicans can't get a reasonably competent ground game in place, they had better brace themselves for a nasty defeat up and down the ballot.

I wonder if Trump's ad buys will be on those late night shows where bail bondsmen advertise?

Even better, Guy Cecil (Priorities USA head) said they are investing in GOTV efforts on top of ad buys - Particularly focusing on areas where downballot candidates can be aided by such field efforts. They have also transferred million(s) so far to independent groups who are registering minority voters.
