Welcome to the Senate, Senator Scott!

I'll consider that amendment a friendly and it has been reflected in the bill.

Debate has stalled for nearly 72 hours without debate. Should that continue, I will open this to a final vote later tonight/tomorrow morning.

As I stated before, I support the bill in it's current form. I personally believe that life begins at conception and that is when it should start being valued, and thus would support going a step further. However, a 20 week ban is a more mainstream position. I think this bill is a good start, and next session will look to write additional legislation that allows for contraceptives to be more accessible, as well as expand on safe-sex education.

There is one more 20th week in Clause 5 you should add in.

24 hours for objections.

Right, I forgot that. Is another amendment necessary or can we consider it as 24 instead of 20?
I think this will be sufficient, intent is there.

My support is based on a study by The New England Journal of Medicine and other experts who have pegged the point of viability at 22 weeks. I can support moving it up to 22 - I cannot support 24.

I object to the current amendment.
