We're acting like this is a self-inflicted wound, but we don't know that. It has come to light because it's what Hillary told the FBI in confidence, not realizing the notes of the interview would be released to Congress.

What she says very well could have been true and Powell is just worried about his own ass now that the news has made it out into the public sphere.

All this really proves is that yeah—the GOP attack machine can be relentless and is occasionally potent.

Number one, this is the man who lied to the United Nations with fake diagrams, yet was never indicted for it, so he needs to shut his mouth about everything but the weather. Number two, the fact that something that resulted in no indictment is still be discussed is insane.

Regardless. Hillz still implicated him into her own troublings. She has to woman up and take the heat for this and the foundation. Self-inflicted wounds.

Two words: No indictment. That's all she has to say at this point. Troublings isn't a word, by the way.

"No indictment." doesn't play well. She should just take responsibility(at this point the public already sees her as guilty) then transition to the issues. She's at her best when focused on the substance of this election.

No indictment means that there is no guilt. The FBI found no crimes committed. It's the media and other sources that keep talking about it, not Hillary.

Hillary Clinton did not make a public statement saying this.  This was illegally leaked by the Republican Congress.

Will there be an investigation and possibly charges into those Republicans in Congress who released this classified information?

I assure you that the sense of irony is wholly lost on them.

This. If Clinton or her campaign made a public statement that would be a gaffe. But blaming her for Republicans leaking confidential material just shows how deranged and obsessed with the Clintons some people are.

yeah I'm actually on Colin Powell's side - even if he did say that to Hillary, she should not have taken his advice because it was literally a decade after he was Secretary of State and the internet had developed so much more and she should've been more careful. It's god damn baffling that she's going down this route.

She is a baby-boomer, of course they are going to take terrible advice when it comes to technology.

Seriously, you are right though. She was way too careless.

That's what happens when you extend an olive branch to the corrupt Clintons, they use it to try to pin the blame on the black guy.

The first (and only) African American Joint Chief of Staff Chair and the first of two African American Secretaries of State (both appointed by Republican Presidents) deserves better than to be slimed by the racist and corrupt Clinton machine.
Personally I'm not comfortable playing the race card.  That's what libs always do.  We conservatives should be above that!

Your candidate wanted the notes released in their entirety, IIRC. Nice try though.

As everyone should know by now, the Clintons will say anything, do anything, no matter who they have to destroy or run over, to get their way.

But they have hit a road block with Powell.

The Clintons are crooked.
