Brian Williams: Madame Secretary, you erroneously claimed to have landed under sniper fire while visiting Bosnia in the 1990s.  Don’t you think that that someone landing by helicopter in a war torn country should get a pass for exaggerating events like that?

I don't know, but I hope the Trump camp doesn't allow liberals like Anderson Cooper or many of the myriad of former Clinton administration folks masquerading as "journalists" moderate a thing and insists on Chris Wallace or Bret Baier or someone from Fox to moderate one of the four debates.

Anderson Cooper is a liberal yes, but I've never gotten the impression that he's particularly partisan as a debate moderator.

It'd be nice for Trump, because he'd have "reason" to avoid talking about issues Cheesy

Chris Wallace and Brett Baier should be moderators. They're the most unbiased reporters out there imo. They hit everyone hard.

Not that I want Anderson Cooper to be the moderator, but anyone who suggests that he would be anything but fair is a clown. Bret Baier and Chris Wallace are ok, but there are much better journalists out there.

I don't know, but I hope they're unbiased. More Jim Lehrer, less Candy Crowley.

Jim Lehrer was pretty universally agreed to have done a terrible job at the 1st 2012 debate.

The criteria should be simple:

1. The moderators must be professional and reasonably fair and unbiased and
2. They should be prepared to ask tough questions but focus on facts, rather than "reality TV" factor, during the debates.

Personally I would put a liberal and a conservative and have them grill Trump and Clinton respectively.

Both top-tier journalists. I admit that Fox has some utter hacks like Hannity, some entertainment figures like O'Reilly and then a bunch of idiots like Gutfeld and Watters, but Wallace and Baier are solid, fair journalists.
