It seems necessary, yeah. It would be better if we found ways to actually deradicalize these people, but I doubt jails can do much in this regard.

Depends on who is being classified as an extremist. I recall reading an article a few years ago about some animal rights nuts in American prison being isolated and denied the right to speak to the press on certain matters because technically the crimes they did were "terrorism" and we had a similar policy allowing for the isolation of political terrorists.

I don't think the law should actually be worded to specify Islamic extremists; if all the radical ideological extremist terrorists in prison are Muslims, then so be it.
