I'm the Devil's Advocate guy.  I often take the opposite view of something I agree with the other person on just to introduce them to good arguments they may run into out in the wild.

This

Don't talk about sex, politics or religion in polite company. As my father put it: "People don't get into shouting matches over whether a basketball player should get more playing time."

Besides, how many people have you met offline who can logically and eloquently argue their politics? I know maybe 2-3. Talking politics offline is tedious for the most part.

I'd like to think I don't but I probably do though in my case it's usually changed based on whichever faction of the left i'm associated with.
