It appears that Donnie is going to invest in trying to carry NY...

Romney + FL, PA, OH, IA is his only hope, even though Pennsylvania is getting harder and harder.

Please keep trying to win NY, Little Donny, and spend money that you could be spending in OH/FL there instead.

Well, maybe he can lose it by Bush's '04 margin instead of Romney's margin!!!

He doesn't need Iowa. FL/OH/PA is 273.

If you're going to lose, then lose like a champion. Go for New York.

May as well toss in CA as well.

If he starts pumping into places that he can't win, it will just make it easier for the party to move on to focusing on saving down ballot Republicans and dumping Donnie.

I'm going to take a wild guess that Trump's New York campaign will spend a lot of money purchasing goods and services from firms that belong to Trump or his relatives.

Not if he loses NC, which looks surprisingly likely right now.   If he loses NC he'll need a few other small swing states to reach 270.

I think the rent on Trump Tower will need to go up again!

Um, not to be rude, but what's the ploy? This isn't like GA, SC, AZ, or even UT where polling has suggested something non-traditional/some reason to fight. NY is about as locked as a state can be. Clinton's campaign is never going to take the bait on fighting for New York.

More about his ego and like others have said about purchasing goods and services from his firms.

Well, if he's going to seriously contest Connecticut, he'll need to invest in the NYC media market. And tangentially, he'll be competing in NJ as well.

The Philly market + the NYC market = the NJ market. PA is an obvious battleground.

I don't think it's a wise move, but I don't pretend to know the internals.

I included North Carolina (implicitly) as part of the Romeny states. Going for Romney + FL, OH, PA also includes defending NC, possible GA and/or Arizona. But his chances are VERY slim, with no room for error. Iowa is too small to make up for Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin seems further out of reach than Pennsylvania.

If he really invests there, he could as well in his home state of New York as Romney did in his home state of Massachusetts....maybe.

PA is not going to happen.  He's better off going for CO+NV, which is also not going to happen.

NH + ME-2 can replace Colorado then.

I get the feeling all Trump really wants to do is sit in his tower and watch TV coverage of himself.
