but it's not remotely the same coalition.

and btw one of the things addressed in the video was her saying that part of MLK's dream was realized when LBJ signed the civil rights act. Was that worded poorly? potentially. I can understand why someone would view that as minimizing MLK. But that in no way compares to Trump's campaign and only a moron would confuse the two.

This isn't the first time that Trump's been confused about what day of the week it is. Why is he confused so often? Is he really mentally healthy enough to be president?!

Anyone who was paying attention at the time remembers the ugly, racist and xenophobic tactics routinely utilized by the Clinton team in '08 when the race got close (especially the turban thing).

The irony here, though, is that Trump's entire campaign is based in the utilization of similar divisive fear tactics turned up to 11.

Who do you think he's appealing to?

Yes, Hillary's clearly the racist one. I mean she may have bowed out of the race when Obama clinched the nomination, and endorsed him, and spoke on his behalf... and served in his administration... and constantly praised his presidency. But let's forget about all that because she said a few things that could be considered questionable while in a contentious primary eight years ago. That's clearly more important than everything Trump has said over the past year.

Is this general about to get uglier? If Trump didn't have a terrible background regarding race these blows could work but this race is about to get nasty.

What else do they have left to do? It's a month since the convention and they're still trailing heavily and have a toxic, rotating staff. The kitchen sink is all there is.

Well Trump is attempting a bs pivot to try to draw back white voters - Clinton isn't going to let him get away with it

Look if Trump wants this campaign to be a debate over who is the most racist one, I'm sure Clinton would be happy to oblige.

Trump said a judge born in Indiana cannot do his job because he is Mexican.

Trump was sued by the Justice Department for refusing to rent apartments to black people.

Trump was a leader of the birther movement.

Trump said Mexico sends us their rapists and murderers.

Trump retweets anti-Semitic images created by white supremacists.

But now in the middle of the general election Trump says that he doesn't want the votes of white supremacists.

You'd have to be awfully stupid to be fooled by this.  This nonwhite voter certainly isn't fooled and based on the polls, the large majority of black, Asian and Latino voters aren't fooled either.  Do we scare you, Trump supporters?

Pop Quiz... Which candidate kissed a KKK member? Trump or Clinton? Who is the racist again?

Right-wingers invoking Robert Byrd every time they are caught red-handed practicing their racism has become an almost Pavlovian response.

I think this forum should be more tolerant of Trump supporters. Imo.

Are you just this dense or are you a troll?
The two options you lay out are not mutually exclusive.

Trump is a con-artist and actor who is running a reality tv character who acts like a B-movie villian for President of the United States. That he's managed to sucker the ignorance-celebrating and reality-challenged Republican Party into nominating him does not make him a better candidate at all.

The overwhelming majority of Trump supporters I encounter online and face to face are low information zealots with critical thinking skills absent or willingly amputated. People who cannot even acknowledge what their candidate actually says and does, and who babble an endless mess of talking points and conspiracy theories and seem to get more tolerance here than they deserve.
