Apparently the entire Trump campaign is run on the back of a new wave of White Nationalism that is a backlash against the first Black president and the accompanied waved of activism inspired by him. There has been increased awareness of police brutality and the race riots such brutality causes. This exacerbates the situation.

How do you see the laws and culture changing if he is President and what kind of reaction will it trigger? What would the next steps be?

President Trump would regularly visit African-American churches in his quest to win 95% of the vote in 2020 at all costs and completely give all he's got in achieving that goal.

White supremacy is validated as an ideology, as African Americans are slowly stripped of their constitutional rights (right to assemble, right to due process, unreasonable search and seizure, even right to bear arms if his recent comments are to be believed). Eventually, national voter ID is instated, and the US returns to segregation.

Are you really equating voter ID with segregation?

Everyone who thinks race relations have gotten worse under Obama will see the true meaning of bad race relations. It'd be really ugly.

No. That was a (rather facetious) bit of speculation on my part

Do you think that there will be Brown/Black Nationalism becoming a widespread thing? Where minorities start demanding autonomy? Something like segregation, but where they basically have have some sort of nationhood?

Race relations would certainly get worse under Clinton. The administration would give all kinds of encouragement to groups like BLM to cause trouble and think they had a sympathetic ear in the White House.

Learning absolutely nothing from the failure of the trickle down approach when it comes to economics, the usual suspects are now calling for trickle down racial harmony: Beat enough uppity negroes and they'll stop causing problems for the poor white folk. Only then we'll have stable race relations; all it takes is for the blackies to recognize their rightful place in society!

Yes, this is basically what I'm seeing here.  If it were feasible to propose genociding the poor and/or colored, then that is what the conservatives would support.  Truly despicable.

He won't call them hate crimes. I can see it now...

President Trump: Black man lynched "probably by someone of his own race, I don't know. Black on black crime is a very real problem."

they would be the best like totally the best they would be great omg so peaceful and harmony . I talked to some race relations experts down in northeastern Texas. where there are a lot of white people and black people, and they say that Trump is the best candidate for race relations in nearly 50 years. Nearly 50 years, you know what was going on 50 years ago? The Civil Rights era, you learned about it in school. These are some very smart people who know a lot about what's going on so you can trust them.

What a hateful and ignorant thing to say. Race relations would certainly be worse under Trump, who I consider a bigot. Painting all conservatives with the same brush, however, is lazy, wrong, and unnecessarily divisive. Shame on you.

Frankly, I imagine that racial tensions are going to boil over in a way that is catastrophic (not to the point of the 1960s) regardless of who wins at this point unless serious reforms are made.
