So with all the talk of expanding the map (on both sides) by early September TV money is being spent on the same set of states as Obama and Romney. The only state not being targeted with TV is Wisconsin, which probably only got into play a bit because of Ryan. It seems the biggest difference is less is being spent on CO and VA and more is being spent on PA.

Today on Bloomberg  Kellyanne said they are adding Michigan to the buy. So Trump is buying in a Obama state that Romney  didn't target, yet Team Clinton have resisted the urge to go beyond NC with TV.  If they went up in AZ, GA, MO, IN or UT then Trump would likely have to follow. And since Clinton has more money, that helps them.

I wonder if they will add Wisconsin.  I wonder if their internal polling matches the two recent WI polls.  The PBS report from yesterday said they had a lot of offices in WI, so it would make sense for it to be on their list for TV too.

For comparison here is how Romney (plus groups supporting Romney) spent their money in 2012...
Florida   19%
Virginia   17%
Ohio   16%
North Carolina   12%
Colorado   8%
Iowa   6%
Nevada   6%
Wisconsin   5%
Michigan   5%
Pennsylvania   4%
New Hampshire   3%

The significant differences is a lot more to PA and nothing to WI. Emphasis on OH, CO, VA, IA and NV is a little less (presumably to make up for the big emphasis on PA).

Combined they spent around $47M in September 2012 (about half from the campaign and half outside groups)
