Likely not. The 2018 map is bad for Democrats. And Warren won't run in 2020. If Trump wins, I think Russ Feingold, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker and Martin Heinrich are the 2020 frontrunners.

He's most famous for spitting on Alex Jones's face (search for it on YouTube).

I think he's right, TBQH. It would be like 2008-present just with the parties reversed. Trump gets elected, hugely unpopular from the getgo, looney base takes over the party, Democrats score huge midterm victory, nominate a "real progressive" in 2020, he loses badly, Democrats win more seats in 2022, Democrats nominate yet another whackjob, he loses, and the establishment (myself included) says "I told you so."

Except the democrats don't have "whackjobs" who would get blown out like Huckabee.

You know who vote in mid-terms don't you?

2006 would have something to say about that argument.

You mean that time a democrat won in Arkansas?

Somebody should tell this clown that nobody ever won by losing.

I'm not sure I agree with the statement(and the "real progressive" thing is stupid) but annoying wordplay based rebuttals are stupid.

Jimmy Dore still thinks Hillary is worse for Democrats, that she will lead to a midterm wipeout in 2018, and an even more conservative Republican winning in 2020.

"If Trump is President, the natural opposition coalesces, we have all the Democrats together, we have the Democrats and purple state Republicans. In 2 years, the House and the Senate flips, we have Democratic majorities in the House, and then in 2 years we get a real frickin Progressive after we get rid of Trump".

Agree or disagree? I think 2018 will be terrible for Democrats no matter what, and it's certainly not worth 4 years of Trump.

I agree with Jimmy Dore about Hillary Clinton.

While it would be wrong to wish for a Trump presidency, Dore probably isn't wrong about the first bit at least.

And Bush the Younger was a seasoned politician who was governor of one of the biggest states in the Union at the time of his election, not to mention that he came from a very prominent political dynasty. There is really no comparison between them.

I thought about this too. However, Obamacare will repealed and replaced with some "free market solution" (monopolies, no regulation, weird HSA startup loan schemes) which will lead to some healthcare finance bubble.  And if Ginsberg dies, the new SCOTUS will basically constitutionally entitle the Republicans to enact and their agenda. If Trump wins, except for Alcohol, it may be the 1920s all over again. I'd be fine with Hillary winning and being where the Republicans were in 2008 in 2020 than 2016. At least them, we'd have a SCOTUS that does its job when it needs to.

Dems will have a trio of Gubernatorial gains in 2018 in IL, MI & WI which will lead to progressive gerrrymandering in 2021.

Let's not forget prime pickup opportunities in Florida and Nevada.

Except if 36% vote again then you can probably kiss all but IL and MI goodbye.

IL was one of the only states Democrats got to gerrymander after 2010. While they made some mistakes like IL-13, there isn't much room to grow there. MI and WI through have a lot of room to grow.
