Here's a possible pathway:

Looks like the storm will hit Florida and Georgia at Tropical Storm levels, before dying down to a Tropical Depression. It will probably make landfall Thursday night into Friday morning. Hopefully everyone has a place to be and stays safe.

Hopefully this won't put too much stress on dams around here that are still weakened by last October's monsoon. Not all of them have been able to be repaired yet. There were referendums a couple weeks ago on creating three special purpose tax districts to pay to replace two dams that washed away and a third that we damaged. They all passed, in two cases unanimously, but obviously they haven't had time to issue bonds and arrange for the work to be done.

Latest tracks have the storm moving further NW which could impact NYC. Very curious.

The east side of the storm has the stronger winds, and the west side has the heavier rains, correct?

No, in this case everything will be on the east side.

Hoping for a hurricane day tomorrow. Most of the coastal cities have already had things cancelled. Smallish storms like this one don't cause much trouble for Floridians and are usually just taken as an opportunity to party.

at that point it would not be anything like a hurricane.

Classes now cancelled basically from Gainesville north and in counties on the Gulf coast.

Which means everyone is now prepping for hurricane parties!
