No. I think the issue is that most Americans don't view immigration as the most pressing issue at the moment and most voters don't support deporting every illegal immigrants. Even if you look at Republican primary exit polls from a lot pf states, mass deportation and never letting illegal immigrants getting citizenship is a divisive issue, not a unanimously held one. Trump's better off focusing on the economy and Hillary's trust issues, and not THE WALL.

Additionally, from an academic standpoint with the Hispanic vote, those who have been here for generations are more likely to vote for Trump than those that do not. I would not be shocked to see Trump get Romney levels plus a few points before all is said and done. The block is not as monolithic as the black vote.

There was one person here who wrote that Trump had a fair amount of support among working class Latinos.  I suspect this speech and his new proposals might hurt him somewhat with them.

Also, I guess this means that his other recent attempts to reach out to minority voters are now inoperative.
