Of course not. That sounds rather low energy.

Van Halen's 2008 show in Baltimore at the 1st Mariner Arena was sitting, though I think on the floor was all standing room (I can't remember). I was on the top deck though, which was seated (both sides/levels were)

Unsure of energy levels

In which there were chairs? Yes.

In which I was forced to sit down? No.

Unsure of what you mean.

When I was a kid, I went to a few different shows with my dad, and we sat down. I don't think I've actually sat down for the majority of a show (sans the couple of brief times I sit during warped tour to rest) since then.

Forced to? No. Chose to? Yes.

I enjoy some plays, but I haven't ever been to any music concerts or shows, thankfully. I'd hate to go anywhere for over thirty minutes I couldn't sit down at.

Both of my Bob Dylan concerts (and the one coming up in November which I bought tickets for) and all of the bluegrass festivals I've been too involved chairs that nobody used. At the Bob Dylan shows, people mostly stood up in front of the chairs while the festivals involve a large area in front of the stage to be reserved for dancing and filming.

Actually amongst Millennials I doubt that's true. I mean people are standing even at Katy Perry concerts or whatever.

I should clarify that, of the two best concerts I've been to, in one of them I actually got up and moved around quite a bit, and at the other I could have but just didn't want to.

Not every musical experience need be met by some writhing mass of humanity. Speed, loudness, and crudity (acknowledging that not everything you listen to is marked by those qualities) are not the only means by which musicians manage to express and evoke emotion. Be aware that your type of music emerged, what, within the last quarter of the 20th century, if not even later? The whole gamut of human experience and emotion as they relate to music ought not be judged by the standards of such an insignificant length of time.

You must not know any real millennials then, at least none who enjoy class.

And for the record, I've been to plenty of both.

Yes.  I saw Bob Dylan in like, 95.  We stood up some, but most of it was sitting.

You really don't wanna listen to a choir concert standing up.

Typical BRTD experience thread:

Have you ever done something completely normal?

Answers of course not and cites a Facebook post from his weirdo friends as reasons why this is the norm.

I'm not sure if I've ever sat in a chair, but I did lay in the grass and stare at the stars during a Killers concert a few years back.

Yeah. Maybe it's because I was in a school orchestra for years, but I really hate when people make noise at concerts. I just want to listen to the music. I don't generally go to concerts though.

I did go to a jazz concert (The Brubeck Brothers after Dave passed) and it really annoyed me that the audience was clapping after every solo even while the band played on.

Am I missing something?  Every arena concert has seats.  As for sitting being a requirement, any sort of symphony or jazz concert fits the bill.
