New Zealand: Auckland (North Island)

Australia: Brisbane (Queensland)

Canada: Vancouver (British Columbia)

Ireland: Dublin

United Kingdom: England
---------------------

Of all these places, I would prefer Brisbane as the best place to raise a family, since it is the third most diverse city in Australia and among the more affordable places to live (along with a decent public transportation system).  I don't know how its schools rank by comparison with its peers, though.

Australia:
- Can't Imagine I'd want to live in Western Australia or any areas towards the center of the country. I'd likely want to live near a large city and a strong Jewish community, so either Victoria or New South Wales would be my likely choices.

Canada:
- Ontario would be the likeliest area that I'd live in, with Quebec being close behind. Maybe British Columbia.  To be more specific Suburbs of Toronto, Montreal would be my likely landing spots.

UK:
- England, by far, would be my first choice within the UK. London and its surrounding areas would be where I'd likely live.

In New Zealand, eh....North Island. With Auckland and Wellington getting preference.

Guernsey, obviously.

In actuality, a tie between New South Wales, British Columbia, and London.

I'm trying to get into the AFL right now, so I've been trying to figure out which part of Australia has the most in common with the culture of the Southern US (part of trying to pick a team).  I've been seeing either Queensland or Western Australia mentioned a lot.

The butt ends of many an Aussie joke. Queensland is famous for its Evangelical community, though. Hell, even Roy Moore lived there for a time.

UK: England (in particular the South of England)

Canada: Quebec

Australia: probably NSW

NZ: no idea (is their a difference other than North Island having a larger city in Auckland?)

I'm trying to get into the AFL right now, so I've been trying to figure out which part of Australia has the most in common with the culture of the Southern US (part of trying to pick a team).  I've been seeing either Queensland or Western Australia mentioned a lot.

Southern USA merges ideologically with Northern Queensland.

But no AFL up there. That is Rugby League country.

For AFL, Brisbane Lions are currently the form team to follow this year.

Traditionally, Brisbane QLD and Sydney NSW are Rugby League towns. The only city with a single team outside that is Melbourne with one. Adelaide and Perth have no Rugby League teams.

Melbourne VIC is the birthplace of AFL (formerly VFL). All teams started there for the first 80 years. That is why the Grand Final is always played at the MCG in Melbourne.

AFL teams are WA (2) NSW (2) TAS (0) QLD (2) SA(2) and VIC (10).

All the Victorian teams have great old ragtime style team songs. All the interstate team songs are terrible. I will let you be the judge:

Gold Coast

Theme Song

Thankfully, they rarely win, so we dont listen to it very often.

Interstate teams are really pissed about the Melbourne advantage of the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground).

During the final series, at least one game per week must be played at the MCG regardless of a team earning a home ground advantage.

And the Grand Final must be played at the MCG no matter what. It's not like the Superbowl.

It's slightly rigged to favour the traditional teams of Melbourne.
