Disappointment - an emotional reaction to an outcome worse than one's expectations or hopes

That's my guess. I'll Google it to make sure.

I thought of what it is among what I'm at least moderately confident of:

McCrory losing in NC.  He is a conservative hero who is a martyr for what is right.  Unfortunately, the media did him in!
