Who's the warmonger again? This is not just incoherent; it is dangerous. War and diplomacy is like 3D-chess, and Trump thinks he's playing Space Invaders.

"Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Friday threatened to respond with an act of war if Iranian sailors made rude gestures toward U.S. Navy ships.

“When Iran, when they circle our beautiful destroyers with their little boats, and they make gestures at our people that they shouldn’t be allowed to make, they will be shot out of the water,” Trump said to raucous applause from his Pensacola rally audience"

But he was against the Iraq War two years after it began, so he's really a non interventionist.

I don't know though, if it will hurt him. Probably the opposite.

Nuclear deal was one of few things that Obama did right, but Iran and the deal is highly unpopular Huh

That's probably because people don't really understand foreign policy in-depth or the complexities of the Iran-nuclear situation. We vote for someone to handle this for us for a reason. Honestly, people shouldn't really be rushing to judgement on these types of decisions because frankly, not only do most folks not have the necessary knowledge in international affairs to truly understand it, but they are not privy to the same information that Obama is, and thus can't really make a sound decision without the facts.

There is no way to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon at this point. Technology is progressing to the point where proliferation will be a serious, unstoppable issue. It's unrealistic to think we can somehow prevent any country we want from going nuclear when the designs, materials and necessary know-how have gone global. All we can do is slow them down, which is what Obama did.

War and diplomacy is like 3D-chess.
You seem to be under the impression chess normally isn't three dimensional.

Any war with Iran would be a suicide mission and end in a humiliating defeat for the US.

Trump scares me in a way no politician has scared me before. I could genuinely see him getting the US involved in a major war and then bringing back the draft to deal with the eventual manpower shortage. I suggest all men between 18 and 25 make plans now to leave the US in case Trump is elected and the draft comes back.

War and diplomacy is like 3D-chess.

Chess pieces move along a flat plane. Were they three dimensional, they would be able to move up and down.

Absolutely crazy.
Only a moron would say something like this.
And to back-up the claim that his supporters are bird-brains, the crowd applauded and cheered him at the rally when he said this !
The whole lot of them are idiots !

Well, it looks like Primary Trump is creeping back into the picture this week.

Primary Trump never left. Some people just managed to fool themselves for a while. Part of the grief at his nomination, I expect.

The real question is how many will accept Hillary and vote against TrumpMillerBarron, and how many will instead embrace the death of the US Republic.

Good thing Trump's bullsh**t is coming out now (and those of his followers) so we can see what exactly we're dealing with. When Hillary wins we can start rooting out the problem.

A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man you can trust with nuclear weapons.

As someone who almost never defends Trump, the thread title and the HuffPo title is misleading. Obviously Trump wasn't referring to literal "hand gestures". He was obviously referring to the incident when Iran captured several American sailors for allegedly being in their waters.

Stop being dense/dishonest.
