Who is the best Governor in America? IMO I'd say John Kasich because Ohio is the closest state to America (as in demographically, economically, etc) and how he has turned the state around from a poor economy. also, Kasich started out as the least popular governor in America and became a governor with a 60% + popularity.

I don't know enough to answer this question effectively. However, from my impressions, Mark Dayton and Jerry Brown have both done excellent jobs. Also Hogan and Baker on the Republican side.

I could just be a total suck-up to my state and say Dayton (and I do really like him), but that would just be lame.

Kasich is the right answer. Rauner, JBE, Baker, and Hogan are up there as well.

Kasich, Hogan, and Baker are all terrific. Of course, my favorite Democrat is the one and only Governor Moonbeam.

Speaking for VA, McAullife is decent, but it seems all of our recent governors don't do much of high consequence. Nobody except the far right cares about the felon voting rights stuff.

JBE is doing a pretty good job with the sack of sh*t that was handed to him, along with the flooding now.

Hogan's decent, but I hate how he's selling out to the amusement park lobby and summer camp industry. He recently signed an executive order mandating that schools start after Labor Day. His whole campaign was about local control of the government but he just ripped it away from school districts.

Also a good answer.

Jerry Brown, easily. He's been able to do a lot, and I agree with most of it. The only problem is his choice of Gavin Newsom as his LG.

Brown, Dayton, and JBE. Inslee's okay, better than Gregoire was, but nothing special. Baker is probably my favorite Republican governor.

Jerry Brown's probably the best at being governor.

Baker, Hogan (look at their ratings), JBE (reasonable governor in very difficult for his party state), Brown (fiscally reasonable governor as a check to often unreasonable legislature), Kasich (who would easily dispatch Clinton, BTW, but his party is too stupid to nominate him)

I like Dayton, both Browns, and Ige, but I'm not sure if they're actually good governors.

Best Republican is probably Baker.

Jerry Brown (D-CA), by far. Then John Bel Edwards (D-LA) and Charlie Baker (R-MA).

Echoing the pro-Jerry Brown sentiments.

Jerry Brown, easily. He's been able to do a lot, and I agree with most of it. The only problem is his choice of Gavin Newsom as his LG.

In California, the Lieutenant Governor is elected separately from the Governor. Back in 2010, Newsom ran for governor in the Democratic Primary before dropping out when it was clear that Jerry Brown was going to dominate. He ran off to run for LG and to plot his 2018 run. I'm hoping that Newsom gets his butt kicked by Chiang in 2018.

Asa's probably one of our top three governors ever, right up there with Mike Beebe and Winthrop Rockefeller.

Republicans: Asa Hutchinson, John Kasich, Charlie Baker, and Brian Sandoval are the best.
Democrats: John Bel Edwards, Jerry Brown, and Earl Ray Tomblin are pretty obvious.

Hogan's doing pretty good, but he needs to rely a bit more on his cabinet, and maybe ask his brother for advice. He could do better.

Wow, name calling over him stating his opinion? He's allowed to have one, you know, and everyone has their own criteria for what makes a good Governor, so calling him an 'idiot' for that doesn't make much sense and is uncalled for.

FreePhoenix, you should really apologize to him. That was not nice. And as Wulfric said, if they reelected him, he can't be that unpopular.
