... That happened three weeks after he took office. Paul Wolfowitz was responsible for the disastrous Wolfowitz Doctrine, and he was a top ally of Cheney. At worst, he was one of Powell's chief opponents, one of Cheney's top allies, Rumsfeld's top lieutenant, advisor, and deputy, and Kirkpatrick's worst top staff member. At best, he was Cheney's best ally in terms of foreign policy realism.
