Pence is one of the best Vice Presidential candidates in the history of the United States.

He made no gaffes in the CNN interview.

Clinton is the one who has viscously and hatefully degraded millions of ordinary, hard working, tax paying Americans.

Millions of ordinary, hard working, tax paying Germans voted Nazi in 1932.

So you are now comparing millions of hard working, tax paying Americans to the German population of 1932.

Shame on you.

What exactly do you think the German population wanted in 1932? They wanted economic stability and they wanted to live in a nation no longer scarred by war. They didn't really care about Hitler's racial dogma, they were just attracted by his rhetoric and oratory skills.

Why is it inappropriate to be comparing millions of hard-working, tax-paying Germans to millions of hard-working, tax-paying Americans? Nobody, in either case, doubts that they are hard-working taxpayers. What is the problem?

Which is exactly what Trump is doing, minus the racial dogma. Then again, given that Trump has essentially blamed society's ills on the Mexicans, and gotten the populace to go along with him, the comparison may be a a little apt. (NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT MEANT TO IMPLY THAT TRUMP'S WILL IN ANY WAY APPROACH THE HOLOCAUST. NOBODY IS SAYING THAT HE WILL SYSTEMATICALLY SLAUGHTER MILLIONS OF HISPANICS; THE COMPARISON IS IN HOW HE HAS GALVANIZED THE PUBLIC TO BELIEVE IN THEM AS A SCAPEGOAT.)

Mike Pence has allied himself with David Duke, Donald Trump, and the tobacco industry.

When Mike Pence holds rallies, the very mention of veterans gets booed by his supporters.

Mike Pence rejects evolution; Mike Pence rejects climate change.  Yet he believes in trickle down economics.  He could be even dumber than Donald Trump!

According to the tweets, Pence responded that he's not in the name calling business and that both he and Trump reject David Duke's support.  "I'm not in the name calling business" and we reject his support isn't the same thing as no.

Oh yeah, I remember the first time he made that laughable statement.  Has he discussed this stance with his current 'business partner'?

Anyone is capable of taking the easy route of demagoguery and quick answers. Trump is offering cheap answers and scapegoats.  FTR, given the tenor of his campaign and the blood-thirsty nature of MANY of his supporters, while she might be wrong in giving that group a number, it is BONEHEADED in the extreme that xenophobia and other related fears and insecurities aren't a big reason why Trump has the support he does.

You can either clutch at pearls and be offended for the sake of being offended, or accept facts.

Yeah and Pence didn't pinky swear he was rejecting Duke's support, so obviously doesn't count either.  Oh what a racist.

If I say Duke is deplorable, wretched, miserable, dishonorable, sickening, terrible, rotten, woeful, lousy, regrettable, lamentable, dreadful, disgraceful, horrifying, execrable, disreputable, and awful...does it mean I actually support him because I missed out "opprobrious"?

What about if I included opprobrious, but misspelled it?  Wouldn't count then?

Gosh, what is the obsession some people have with denouncing David Duke?  Everybody acts like he must be denounced explicitly, with cutting words that leave no doubt that you think he's a horrible person.  Anything less than that and you might as well be the sheriff in White Lightning.
A lot of good folks in Louisiana voted for David Duke, and think he served them well in the state legislature.

The question presented to Pence was simple.
Don't try and make it more complicated that it really is/was.
It's like answering the question : Would you describe Earth as being round in shape ?

If he loses, as is likely, sure. But I think Pence knew that going in. He put all his credibility on "The orange clown will win, and then make me Cheney on steroids, until he gets bored or impeached."

I don't care whether they think that. "Good folks" supporting horrible things/people too often get a pass.

They want to get him a lot of attention so he makes it to the runoff with one of the Democrats.

For the benefit of our newer posters, there's a long-standing Atlasism that Winfield's posts are infinitely more entertaining if you imagine him sitting in some Newport mansion wearing a monocle.

Well Pence should poor judgment when he decided to accept Trump's offer to be his running mate, so this additional display of the same I guess should not be terribly shocking.

I always imagined him sitting back enjoying a glass of milk with Romney.
