Wow, Hillary's writers suck. Can't even accurately report about a meme that's been around since 2011.

For someone sounding so against PC, you seem pretty triggered.

Can we just stop and think about the fact that there is an article on Hillary Clinton's website called "Donald Trump, Pepe the frog, and white supremacists: an explainer"?

...

Wow, Hillary's writers suck. Can't even accurately report about a meme that's been around since 2011.

http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/pepe-the-frog

First of all, it's been around since 2005.

Second of all, I partially agree with your point, but Clinton's website does acknowledge that:

Third of all, I'm pretty sure Know Your Meme is now GamerGate-controlled FYI.

I don't know. I think most of the people involved stopped caring about that and started caring about Trump's campaign.

I consider myself a right-wing independent, but yeah, GamerGate was a silly controversy all the way around. I can't imagine getting that bent out of shape about video games.

I don't even remember what GamerGate was supposed to be about.  It was like three years ago, some girl had sex with a guy who reviewed her game, remind me again why people even cared?

We need to take our memes back from the alt-right. Make Pepe innocent again!

All I remember was it was kids-in-the-basement vs feminazis and something about that some game reviewers were taking money to write good reviews for studio's games and the reviewers also were anti-gamer and put some of that feminazi propaganda into their reviews and responses.

Low quality meme's like pepe are only really still a thing because of being propped up by groups like the alt-right. Going ancient history, it reminds me of that 'pool's closed' meme that festered beyond its expiration date due to the 4chan crowd's bomb throwing faction using it as a rallying cry years back. But at least that had some attachment to their history. This is... just inane. Just like the alt-right. So kind of fitting. I guess.

This is a pretty stupid hill on which to plant a flag. Associating Pepe with white supremacy? It was just such a prevalent meme that everybody picked up on it and began using it (including white supremacists).

This is going to look so dumb to anybody under 30; way to reinforce the classic "Clinton is out-of-touch" stereotype. There goes 5 points of Millennial support! The sad thing is, it was probably Millennials who wrote this silliness in the first place.

Clinton is off on her meme game.
