Will help him with some but they won't likely vote for him anyways. I imagine this will hurt him with quite a few Republicans though.

This will all be forgotten by Trump by the end of the week.  His ADHD will have moved on to something else.

I would be mad, but I know the GOP senate won't pass this federal overreach  (hopefully).

The whole idea of eliminating fraud to pay for programs is bogus because most of the time fraud is minimal. This is lip service to try and fool women voters.

Maybe not in Sweden but I'd say at least 60%+ of Republicans would be against it just because liberals support it.

Great, still half what even the closest other developed countries provide.  Why the US is so far behind on this issue continually blows my mind.

even my staunchly conservative father likes this idea. Truthfully, beyond National Journal editors, I can't imagine anyone disagreeing with this policy.

He also supports $10 dollars per hour minimum wage. He was a democrat and said that hillary would make a good president in 2008.

Don't ever trust this man...He is a con through and through but probably a democrat.

Every time Trump pulls this stunt where he advocates for the Democratic Party's positions, the Democrats in Congress should pull an all-nighter to pump out a bill doing exactly that and challenge the GOP Congress to shoot down their own nominee's policy.

They should of done a bill to raise the federal minimum wage to 10 bucks per hour when he said he supported it a few months ago.

There are actually shades of Rubio's platform in this plan. It's not necessarily a Democrat platform.

Folks, he came out with an alternative plan just a month ago that was basically an upper-middle-class to rich person tax break allowing deductions for nannies essentially. He doesn't really give a s*** about this policy proposal. I guarantee you this is nothing more than campaign rhetoric 2 try to make inroads among republican-leaning women Kama especially married women, in light of the fact that Hillary's campaign has spent the last week's shooting its toes off one by one. It's not even about campaign policy, but rather just to make the Donald scene softer and gentler than his completely misogynistic ass really is. At least two conservative women who can't stomach Hillary but are leaning toward her because, well...

If he's elected, this goes in the dumpster before inauguration day to be replaced by something awfully similar to his original plan.

Now that Trump is endorsing this, be prepared for Salon/Buzzfeed articles about how advocating maternity leave is misogynist for suggesting women need a break more than men. That was bound to happen anyway, but this will accelerate it.

I think this is Ivanka's proposal actually which means her dad still won't care but it'll get more push than anything else.
